COLUMBIA, SC -- He forced a girl out of her school chair, and now he's been forced out of a job.

South Carolina School Resource Officer Ben Fields was let go on Wednesday morning, after an incident caught on camera showed him yanking a 16-year-old insubordinate student out of her chair and dragging her across the floor.

That student had reportedly had been asked to leave the classroom and when she refused, Fields was called in.

"We must not lose sight that this whole incident was started by this student,” said Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott, after announcing the officer’s termination.

A third video from inside the classroom reportedly shows the student punch the officer. She faces a charge of disturbing schools, along with another girl who was in the class.
