TACOMA, WA - The lengths people will go for a free ride. A driver's attempt to fool Washington State Patrol in the carpool lane has come to a screeching halt.

It's hilarious enough the trooper took a photo of it, and its going viral in the spirit of Halloween. The driver placed a zombie-looking doll in the front seat to by-pass the HOV lane toll near Tacoma.

The doll was buckled in, dressed in pajamas wearing a knit cap. It looks nothing close to a human. Its face has a creepy, evil grin.

Besides, you'd think the driver wanted a better chance of his trick-or-treat to pay off, he would at least put the doll in a child seat.

The driver got hit with a $136 fine for the HOV violation. Some trick, no treat, just a ticket.
