HOUSTON – Police are searching for a man who shot and killed a man in front of his wife during an attempted robbery in southwest Houston.

Officials say just after midnight, the man and his wife had returned home to their town house off United and W Sam Houston Parkway after running errands.

As the couple pulled into a parking spot, that's when the husband was approached by a man with a gun demanding money and his wallet.

As the husband was reaching for his wallet, the suspect shot him once in the chest then got away on foot.

The wife was not injured and is talking to detectives.
