HOUSTON - If you're the type of person who hates Fall because you'll be spending your weekends raking up leaves, this story is good news. The National Wildlife Federation is telling people not to rake leaves out of their yard.

The NWF says bagging leaves to be thrown in landfills is a waste, claiming that 13% of solid waste in the U.S. is yard debris. The conservation group says that many animals depend on the ecosystem created by dead leaves, urging homeowners to keep and compost the debris.

We know change is hard. But consider this: if you give up raking those leaves, you might just get your weekends back.
