On this Day in Music history, in 1955, already a huge hit in America, Bill Haley and His Comets single 'Rock Around The Clock' was the number one song in The United Kingdom. The song has been credited with changing popular music.

In 1971,  Issac Hayes was at the top of the singles chart on this day with his song 'Shaft.'

In 2005, UK pop star Robbie Williams broke a Guinness World record when he sold 1.6 million tickets in just 24 hours. He now holds the record for most concert tickets sold in a single day.
