STOCKTON, CA - A dangerous game of hide-and-seek between brothers ended with one in the hospital and the pair's stepfather in hot water.

Stockton Police say the boys, ages three and 15, were playing when the toddler decided to hide in the closet. That's where he found his stepfather's .22 rifle, which he accidentally used to shoot his older brother. The injured teen was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.

However, the boys' stepfather, who also happens to be a California Highway Patrol officer, could face charges.
