HOUSTON, TX - As Houston's mayoral runoff election started closing up, candidates Sylvester Turner and Bill King made their final pushes to earn votes.
With long campaigns nearing their ends, both remained proud of their efforts.
"This is the only campaign that's been talking about the diversity of the city of Houston," Turner said. "It's the only campaign that's been talking about not only diversity, but inclusiveness - making sure everybody is represented at the table of decision-making."
Bill King said, "I'm proud of the race we've run because we had our message, we stuck to that message. We didn't do any negative campaigning, which can't be said of my opponent's campaign obviously. We stuck to the message we thought was resonating with Houston voters and what they were concerned about."
The polls close at 7 PM Saturday night.
