On this Day in Music history, music fans just couldn’t get enough of five brothers from Gary, Indiana. The Jackson 5 made their Ed Sullivan debut back in 1969. The guys were regulars on the show over the next few years.

In 1977, a film was released that took disco by storm. The soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever produced five number one hits.

On this day back in 1980, hearts were breaking all over the world. John Lennon had just been murdered and his wife Yoko Ono called for 10 minutes of silence. More than 250,000 people packed Central Park in New York City, to pay their respects to the Beatles band member.
