Inge with The Buckingham Gingerbread House

HOUSTON - Houston resident Inge-Lotte Liesner of The Buckingham, has been baking up a storm this holiday. The 74-year-old native of Germany first crafted the huge gingerbread house that served as the showcase for her community's holiday party, and is now in the final throes of baking 50 to 60 holiday cakes that she's sold to her friends and neighbors.

She covers the full cost of ingredients and donates all proceeds to Volunteer Interfaith Caregivers-Southwest, which provides free one-on-one assistance to seniors in Southwest Houston.
