Houston among top 24 percent of cities with the most credit card debt

HOUSTON - Are you a big spender or a big lender?

Americans spent an estimated 630.5 billion dollars during the recent holiday shopping season and a good amount of that loot was attributed to credit cards.

Americans spent so much that credit card comparison website CardHub used data on 2,547 U.S. cities to find out the highest and lowest credit card debts. Houston is among the top 24 percent of cities with the most credit card debt.

The city with the highest average credit card debt is none other than Beverly Hills, California. Their debt is five times greater than in Clarkston, Georgia which is the city with the lowest debt.
