HOUSTON – A pedestrian is dead after authorities say he threw himself on top of someone’s car in east Houston.

Around 10 p.m. Wednesday, police say a man threw a rock at a car and smashed the windshield as it was driving northbound on Uvalde.

The driver reportedly then pulled into a parking lot to call police and claims he no longer saw the man.

However, as he was driving through the parking lot, the driver says the man appeared out of nowhere and threw himself onto the windshield causing him to lose control of the car crash into a ditch.

The man was taken to a hospital where he later died.
