While most people were sleeping, two men were up to no good at a Northwest Houston convenience store.

Overnight near West 34th and Mangum, police say two robbers wearing ski masks held an female employee at gun point while demanding money from the register.

What happened next probably came as a surprise --- a male employee - who happened to be the female employee's son -- came from the back of the store with a gun!

Authorities say the men exchanged gunfire, leaving one of the suspects dead at the scene, his partner in crime got away.

Luckily, both the hero and his mom were not hurt.

Maybe this will be a lesson to all crooks worldwide, you better think twice when you mess with a pistol packin' mama's boy.
