HOUSTON, TX - There seems to be more and more Texans holstering these days than ever before. With open carry and all. Well, before you go off all half-cocked and try to take your newly acquired firearm on a plane trip. You might want to get your finger off the trigger and listen up. The TSA claims they confiscated a record-high 2653 firearms from carry-on bags at checkpoints across the nation and 80% of them were loaded. Makes you feel safe doesn`t it?

Texas is the biggest packin' state at airports. Five from the lone star state shot their way right into the top ten airports across the country. Dallas Love Field, Austin-Bergstrom International, and Hobby all made the list. Aiming a little higher, at George Bush Intercontinental, TSA screeners uncovered 100 guns, which is third on the list. At number one and leading the nation, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport where 153 guns were confiscated.

Of course, there`s a lot more gun carriers in Texas than most places, and on top of that, 40 million more passengers chose to fly the friendly skies in 2015 than in the previous year. But if it`s that important to you to carry a gun on a plane, properly secure it checked baggage. And please don`t go shooting your mouth off about it.
