AUSTIN – The turbulent ride for former University of Texas quarterback Vince Young never seems to stop. The latest has the former Longhorn star arrested early Monday morning on a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated.
Young led the Longhorns to a National Championship after beating USC in the 2006 Rose Bowl. Young would then be drafted by the Tennessee Titans with the third overall pick in the NFL draft. Young never lived up to his potential and last played in the NFL in 2011 as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.
UT announced in August of 2014 that Young had been hired to serve as a development officer for program alumni relations in the university’s Division of Diversity and Community Engagement, a job that pays over $100,000 annually.
No word on whether this latest brush with the law will cost Young his job with the university.
