HOUSTON – Ted Cruz is having an interesting week.

He came in third in the New Hampshire Republican primary on Tuesday, and now, his campaign pulled its latest ad.

The ad showed voters attending a meeting of the fictitious “Conservatives Anonymous” recovery group. But the message got lost in one of the faces.

That face belongs to actress Amy Lindsay from Houston. The University of Texas journalism major may be more famous for roles in soft-porn flicks like “Confessions of a Lap Dancer,” where she didn’t get naked.

Or you may remember her in a part she played in the TV series “Co-Ed Confidential”, or in an episode in the last season of "Star Trek: Voyager."

Her first and last big flick was the 1996 “The Portrait of a Lady” starring Nicole Kidman and John Malkovich.

Her one line in the Cruz ad, “Maybe you should vote for more than just a pretty face next time,” was enough to catch the eagle eye of someone who ran to the ultra conservative Cruz camp and pointed out Lindsay’s filmography, something the ad people, and Ted missed.

Lindsay didn’t approve of the ad getting jerked off by Cruz’s people, tweeting that she was “extremely disappointed.”

In case you’re wondering, she answered a casting call and passed the audition.

Someone at the casting company apparently didn’t check to see if there was anything even slightly dirty in her past.

But she’s looking to the future when she’ll be part of Star Trek’s 50th anniversary world tour, where she’s sure to live long and prosper.
