HOUSTON, TX - Real concerns for safety in the Galleria after an attempted robbery in front of Neiman Marcus on Post Oak turns deadly. The 61-year-old victim was pronounced dead at Ben Taub Hospital. Houston Police say is 35-year-old André Roy is the man responsible. A life taken for nothing more than standing on the sidewalk. Roy was held at the scene by a witness and is in police custody and has been charged for the crime.

Add this to other Galleria-area crimes recently, and it's a cause for concern. There was the  fatal stabbing of a homeless man at a Galleria-area gas station last April. In January 2015,  35-year-old Christopher Flores attempted to kidnap a 21-year-old woman outside the Cheesecake Factory.

Now, in the wake of such senseless acts, Galleria patrons worry for their own safety.
