On this Day in Music history, Barbara Streisand had the number one album in the country with 'The Way We Were' on this day back in 1974. The album was a great pairing to one of the biggest movies of the 1970's.

Back in 1989, MTV launched a contest to give away Jon Bon Jovi’s childhood home. The lucky couple didn’t stay at their new address very long though. The pair sold the New Jersey pad for about $70,000 just a year later.

It was a tragic day back in 1991 for country star Reba McEntire. A plane carrying seven of her band members and her road manager crashed, killing everyone on board.
