SAN DIEGO, CA - Man's best friend has been known to travel miles to return home but a dog in California beat the odds on land and sea. Luna, a year-old German Shepherd was last seen in February after she jumped off her owner's boat near San Clemente Island.

Luna's owner searched the water and the island for days but saw no sign of his precious pup. Well Luna was finally spotted hanging around the Naval Auxiliary Landing Field which means she must have swam the two miles to shore.

Luna's owner was out of the state and wasn't on hand for her return but is expected to be reunited with his best friend very shortly.
