SW HOUSTON -- A fire and then gunfire erupts at a Southwest Houston P.F. Changs.

The fire broke out just after 7pm at the location off of Westheimer near Hayes.

Crews were able to put it out quickly.

A contractor was hired to secure the restaurant overnight. Around 1am police say a 17-year-old tried to hold him up at gunpoint.

The contractor grabbed the gun and the two wrestled over it until it went off, shooting the teen suspect in the groin.

He attempted to limp off, but a police officer caught up to him. He was arrested and taken to the hospital.

The contractor was not hurt.

No word on when the restaurant will re-open.
