Art car ball
The legendary Art Car Ball is tonight at I & II Allen Center. Get out your costumes and hit the biggest party in town! Doors open at 6 and there’s gonna be tons of live music including Sam “Shake” Anderson and the suspects. Tickets are $30 at the door.
Art car parade
The ball is just a precursor of the big event, the 29th annual Art Car Parade. More than 250 larger than life motorized creatures will make their way through downtown Houston. The best part, it’s all free! Events start at 11 am Saturday with the parade getting rolling around 2 pm.
“Inside out” at Discovery Green
Looking for some more free family fun head on down to Discovery Green Saturday night. Screen on the green is featuring Pixar’s big hit “Inside Out.” The movie gets started at 8:30 pm, but if you get there an hour early, you can check out games and other free activities. You can even bring your own blanket, lawn chairs and picnics for a night out.
Memorial Hermann Ironman 70.3
Experience athletes competing at the Memorial Hermann Ironman 70.3. They begin their day with a 1/2 mile and one-loop Saltwater swim. Then the 56-mile bike course takes ’em on a ride along the Texas Gulf Coast. Finally, a 13.1-mile run is fast and flat. The finish is next to the majestic colonel paddle wheel boat.
H – Town Festival of Laughs
If you want a good laugh go and experience the H – Town Festival of Laughs. This event features comedians Mike Epps, Bruce Bruce, Sommore and Earthquake at NRG Arena.
Prices range from $40 to $125.
