Good Samaritian shot and killed in Southwest Houston

SOUTHWEST HOUSTON — Just after midnight yesterday a man visiting a friend witnessed a couple fighting outside of their home. Police say the man hit the woman and that’s when a Good Samaritan got out his car to defend the the woman.

The male suspect, Hector Henriquez, 18, was carrying a gun when he was approached. He pulled the gun out and shot the victim in the chest. The suspect fled the on foot and attempted to hide under a bridge that was only a few blocks away from the crime.

Heneiquez was arrested and taken into custody.

The victim was taken to Southwest Memorial where he later died. The identity of the male victim is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
