On this Day in Music history, in 2002, the rapper and stand out talent from the girl group TLC was killed in a car crash. Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes was on vacation in Honduras when the fatal accident occurred.

Back in 2003 a British magazine named Paul McCartney the richest musician in the world with a net worth of more than $760,000,000. The Beatles band mate is worth more than a billion dollars today.

Also on this day in 2008, the former lead singer of Genesis, Phil Collins announced he was retiring from the entertainment business.
