KATY, TX - If high school football is really king in Texas, some school districts are building castles to fit! Katy ISD is currently constructing a new facility that will be next to the current Rhodes Stadium. It's expected to open in Fall 2017, but comes at a cost of $62.5 million dollars.

That is no longer the most expensive high school stadium project in the state though.  Voters in north Texas voted this week to approve a new stadium for McKinney ISD, which will come with a $62.8 million dollar price tag.

Both McKinney's and Katy's are more expensive than Eagle Stadium in Allen, which cost $60 million dollars.
