Houston recovers flood concert
A benefit concert is being held tonight to help flood victims in our area.

Mayor Sylvester Turner has teamed up with country music star, Clay Walker and Joel and Victoria Osteen of Lakewood church to put on the show.

Big names in entertainment are coming to Houston for this benefit concert including Brian McKnight, Regina Belle, Tim Mcgraw, Kid Rock, Darius Rucker, Yolanda Adams to name a few.

The event is free to the public. However, people are encouraged to donate to the greater Houston storm relief fund.

Puppies for breakfast
What could top the puppy bowl at last year`s dog-centric downtown festival how about puppies for breakfast?

There`s a dog costume contest with a cash prize, cool vendors, rescue groups with adoptable pups, music and a fun coloring book.

So bring your leashed and decorated pet, but don`t be surprised if you fall in love and go home with two dogs.

The event is this Saturday from 10 – 2pm. Best part, its free.

Palm Beach at Moody Gardens
The sun is out, and Moody Gardens is revving up for an adventurous summer as its popular Palm Beach opens for the season, billed as Galveston`s only white sand beach.

Mom and Dad could probably use a little R&R too, which makes this the perfect hot spot for chill-laxing.

Don`t miss the 650-foot lazy river, the thrilling enclosed tower slides and an enormous six hundred-square-foot, zero-entry wave pool.

Tickets range from $0 – $23.95.

BBQ Fest
Have you been craving for some BBQ lately? Well this is your weekend.

Join the Houston celebration of Houston barbecue at the 4th annual Houston barbecue festival this Sunday. Over 25 barbecue joints will be in attendance.

The event will take place at NRG Park, gate 13 and the green lot. Live music will be provided.

Tickets range from $60 – $120 bucks.
