On this Day in Music history in 1954, Bill Haley and his Comets released  the mega hit, 'Rock Around The Clock.' The song was originally quite the flop until it was used on a movie soundtrack a year later when the song became popular.

On this day in 1998, Motley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee began serving a six-month jail sentence for assaulting his then wife Pamela Anderson.
