TOKYO, JAPAN - A die-hard fan willing to kill?

That terrifying scenario played out in Japan's music scene.

A Japanese pop star was stabbed multiple times apparently by an obsessed fan!

Pop singer Mayu Tomita, 20, was reportedly stabbed over 20 times in the neck and chest after refusing a gift from him.

The vicious attack happened Saturday afternoon just hours before the singer was scheduled to perform.

Police arrested Tomohiro Iwazaki, 27, who allegedly confessed to the crime, according to the Japan Times.

Reports claim the suspect told police, "I lost my temper and stabbed her many times because she didn't clearly answer."

The Japan Times also reported that Tomita had filed a complaint with police against a fan who "persistently" sent her unwanted messages on social media.

As for now, the show cannot go on because Tomita is in a coma, fighting for her life.
