Chicago, IL - Prosecutors can learn a lot from a secret wire tap in prison, and now former cop turned convict Drew Peterson is learning that, too!

Peterson is currently serving a 38-year sentence for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

But now Peterson is also on trial for a solicitation-for-murder case in which the convict is accused of trying to hire a hit man to bump off the prosecutor who put him behind bars.

Turns out when Peterson began shopping around for a hit man in the prison back in 2013, he was singing like a canary to a fellow inmate who happened to be secretly wired-for-sound.

Now that inmate has been testifying against Peterson in the current trial and spilling all sorts of secrets about the ex-cop, like claiming that Peterson confessed to killing his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, who has been missing since 2007.

But maybe the craziest revelation to come out so far is what Peterson wanted to do after getting out of prison. Apparently he wanted to hook up with a Mexican drug cartel and "sell dope."

Hey, who knew Peterson was such a fan of El Chapo?

Yeah, who knows what other secrets are yet to come out in the court room, but perhaps Peterson will learn a lot more about justice by the time it's all over.
