CLEVELAND, OH - It was the lunge heard 'round the world. This after a father leaped across the court room right at his daughter's killer, Michael Madison, who had just been sentenced to die.

"I don't know if I thought about leaping or what have you," the emotional dad Van Terry confessed. "I just know I wanted him."

"This is the type of thing Mr. Madison finds amusing," prosecutor Tim McGinty reflected.

The convicted serial killer received the sentence for brutally raping and murdering three innocent women in 2013 and hiding their remains in small plastic bags.

"These were three beautiful women," Belinda Minor, mother of one of the victims, said. "They didn't deserve to lose their lives that way."

"It was horrible to have to be that close...to have to breathe that air," Sonia Richardson, a victim's aunt, shared. "To be in the same room with a person who is that horrible and don't even care."

The convicted killer was taunting victims' family members and even smiling during the entire proceeding.

"If there was ever a man who deserves the death penalty this is it," McGinty insisted.

It's no wonder the father became un-glued when facing Madison.

"He looked at me and smiled," Terry recalled. "I thought that was so disrespectful."

"I call it a father feeling his pain," Terry continued. "And if I did get charged I'm all right with that, cause I did what I thought was right."

Perhaps this lunge will finally lead to some closure for all.

As one victim's mother, Marie Padgette, put it, "She can rest in peace now."
