HOUSTON -- They're definitely not winning "Parents of the Year."  Houston police say a couple left their two young children in a hot car while getting high on Kush, or synthetic marijuana.

Ashlea Jones, 26, and Christopher Alexander, 27, are both charged with endangering a child.

According to court documents, the couple left a 2-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy inside a hot car, without air conditioning, in a high crime area in northwest Houston.

The parents were in the car with the children, but were passed out in the front seat.  Police say they admitted they were high on Kush.

Jones and Alexander were both hauled off to jail and the children were placed in foster care.
