HOUSTON — You've probably heard of Interfaith Ministries' Meals on Wheels for Greater Houston program that delivers meals to home-bound seniors.

But did you ever wonder how the pet companions of those seniors are fed? Well, that's where aniMeals comes in.

In this month's Houston PetTalk we explore the AniMeals on Wheels program that takes pet food to low income people — so they can feed their pets.

"Those clients struggle with making their own meals," said Hannah Weier, manager of the Volunteer Services Department at Interfaith Ministries.

"Purchasing their pet's food or even lifting up a bag of 20 pound dog food is a challenge for seniors who live at home alone," Weier said.

Some seniors will starve themselves to feed their beloved pets and this program hopes to change that.
