SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A group of mattress store owners are under fire this week following the releasing a controversial commercial themed after the horrific events of 9/11.

Miracle Mattress in San Antonio has been closed indefinitely after promoting a "twin towers" sale commemorating the Sept. 11 attacks back in 2001.

The decision to shut down was prompted due to serious backlash over the advertisement, which shows two stacks of mattresses falling in depiction of the towers that crumbled in New York City.

Owner Mike Bonanno posted a letter Friday to Facebook saying, "We will be silent through the 9/11 anniversary to avoid any further distractions from a day of recognition and remembrance for the victims and their families.  We take full responsibility for our actions and sincerely regret the hurt and pain caused by this disrespectful advertising campaign."
