MISSOURI CITY, TX - Terry Petry possesses a skill everyone would like to have on a football field.

"I have a great gift from God, he gave me a lot of speed," the Ridge Point cornerback said.

His coach, Brett Sniffin, estimates Petry runs a 4.3 in the 40-yard-dash.  With his physical tools, the senior plays a variety of roles for the Panthers, including wide receiver, cornerback and kick returner.

"I love the intensity of it," Petry said. "It's a very fun game. It's competitive, and there's always some tension."

On the field, Petry enjoys "the moment of truth" when either he or a wide receiver will come down with the ball.  The way he can dissect a play translates into the classroom, where he's kept a B average the last couple of years.  He particularly likes his science classes.

After high school, Petry is set to play at the University of Houston.
