WASHINGTON, D.C. - Donald Trump just reversed course on one of his biggest issues. At a press conference Friday, he said, "President Barack Obama was born in the United States period."

Trump had spent the past several years touting the idea that President Obama was born in Kenya. Some people say it was Trump's persistence on the issue that gave rise to his political career. Trump reportedly cam under pressure from aides to drop the conspiracy theory. Trump, however, made the claim that Hillary Clinton started the entire controversy.

Hillary Clinton said, "Barack Obama was born in America plain and simple and Donald Trump owes him and the American people an apology."

Trump announcement Friday was not accompanied by any apology.
