Brangelina break-up: Is this the end of romance?

LOS ANGELES — Is romance dead? If Brad and Angelina can't make it for the long haul, who can?

News of the power couple calling it quits is a shock, even to some of their closest buds like actor, George Clooney.

"I didn't know that," Clooney said. " Wow. I feel very sorry to hear that.  That's the first I heard of it."

The couple had been together for 12 years and married for the last two.

Angelina's high-profile attorney filed first citing the Tinsel Town usual, “irreconcilable differences.”

Laura Wasser knows her way around divorce court. She just repped Johnny Depp in his split.  Wasser's other clients include Britney Spears, Ryan Reynolds, Heidi Klum.  Basically, she's the go-to mouthpiece for mega-watt stars who's marriages are toast.

TMZ said Jolie-Pitt wants physical custody of all six kids and is tired of her soon-ex husband's parenting style, substance abuse and anger issues.

By the way, the Brad has a new love! On screen, at least.

His WWII romance with French beauty Marion Cotillard is steamy. Some wonder whether this on-screen pairing played a part in the break-up.

Déjà vu, anyone?
