STAFFORD, Texas — Chad Jones always knew his son, Hezekiah, had special athletic abilities.

"He's always had good hand-eye coordination," Chad said. "He then started developing a great amount of speed. It was my job to find out and maneuver him in the right ways, so he could be successful."

Chad is the running backs coach at Stafford High School, but he always keeps an eye on Hezekiah, the Spartans senior wide receiver.

"He pushes me even harder," Hezekiah said. "Even if he wasn't working here, he would push me harder than anyone else."

Hezekiah's success on the football field is also matched with his work in the classroom.

"I'm a great student, A's and B's only," Hezekiah said. "I just try to have great grades, because without the grades, you can't even get into a college."

Hezekiah has received college scholarship offers from multiple schools, but he's verbally committed to play at Texas A&M.
