MARKSVILLE, La. — It's been nearly a year since marshals with the Marksville Police Department in Louisiana gunned down a father and his 6-year-old autistic son, body camera video shows just how chilling the situation truly was.

Jeremy Mardis was with this father Christopher Few when they were chased and corned by marshals Derrick Stafford and Norris Greenhouse, investigators said. The officers originally claimed they fired the fatal shots because Few backed his car up and was trying to use it as a weapon.

Prosecutors don't believe their account and said the marshals followed Few after witnessing him arguing with a girlfriend.

Both officers have been charged with second-degree murder and will be tried separately.

While Few survived his injuries, he'll never recover from the loss of his child.
