NEW YORK, NY - Talk about a political bombshell!
The Washington Post dropped a whopper on Friday with the release of a recording of Donald Trump making lewd and highly offensive remarks on a "hot" microphone while on an 'Access Hollywood' shoot back in 2005.
"I moved on her actually. You know, she was down at Palm Beach," Trump says in the recording. "I moved on her, and I failed. I'll admit it. I did try to f**k her, and she was married."
The Twittersphere blew up right away with widespread outrage and condemnation of Trump's comments, especially his use of the "p-word."
"I'm automatically attracted to beautiful," Trump continued in the video. "I just start kissing them, it's like a magnet. It's just... and when you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything....grab them by the p***y....do anything."
Shortly after that exchange, Trump and 'Access Hollywood' host Billy Bush exited from a tour bus....knowing the cameras were now rolling.
"Hello, how are you? Hi," Trump greeted their female guest. "...You know Billy Bush?"
"How about a little hug for Donald?" Bush asked the guest. "He just got off the bus."
"Okay, absolutely," Trump said as he hugged her. "Melania said this was okay."
Trump issued a statement through his campaign saying, "This was locker room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course -- not even close. I apologize if anyone was offended."
After the story broke, a Trump campaign staffer sent a text describing their immediate reaction as "Gasps. Collective gasps. There's no way to spin this."
Trump's rival-- Hillary Clinton-- tweeted, "This is horrific. We cannot allow this man to become president."
Some local residents weighed in, too. Like Pock Chanthavong, who said, "I can't believe that's our person who's running for president. He's a piece of s**t!"
"Well, it's not really something nice to hear," Iris Roque shared. "But, as a person, I really cannot judge him. As long he would do something good for the country, that's all that matters."
One of the most colorful tweets came from comedian Chelsea Handler: "Trump should be forced to have gender reassignment surgery, just for fun. He can find out what it's like to be on the other side of him."
Bush issued an apology statement saying, "Obviously I'm embarrassed and ashamed. It's no excuse but this happened 11 years ago."
A petition is now circulating for NBC to remove Billy Bush from The Today Show.
Controversial drug entrepreneur Martin Shkreli defended Trump's remarks saying..."Guys tend to say crazy s**t about women to other guys."
...Makes you wonder if this election is still up for grabs?!
