Daniel the Emotional Support Duck comforts woman with PTSD

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it must be one lucky duck.

He's Daniel the Emotional Support Duck!

"Ahhh...Daniel!" duck owner Carol Fitzgerald exclaimed. "Yeah, I love you," she said as she kissed his beak. "When he's quiet, he's usually into something he ought not to be into."

"Without Daniel, I would stay home for the rest of my life," Fitzgerald shared. "I would never leave the house because I can't." Fitzgerald suffers from PTSD, resulting from a car accident.

"He can tell when I'm about to have a PTSD moment," Fitzgerald told of her remarkable little duck. "The PTSD was the result of a bad accident caused by a driver who was on their phone when they should have been looking at the road."

Yep, this Indian Runner duck goes everywhere with his owner now, and he's a bit of a super hero!

"He's wearing his Captain America underpants," Fitzgerald pointed out. "He also loves macaroni and cheese," she added.

"Are you happy? Are you happy?" Fitzgerald asks Daniel the duck, as she tickles him.

His quacking smile says it all.

So, next time you're in a fowl mood forget about a therapy dog.

Consider a therapy duck!
