HOUSTON -- In Houston, it's not just all about the football, it's also about the food! And no one but us Southerners know how to marry our favorite two loves together better than when it's game day!
As we all get ready for our Monday Night Football watch parties, Chef DeeDee Coleman of "Cooking with a Twist" shows us an easy recipe to make wraps, made with chicken and her signature Red Velvet Waffles.
Chef DeeDee's Chicken & Red Velvet Waffle Wraps
- Egg Roll Wraps
- Fried Chicken Tenderloin (shredded)
- Red Velvet Waffle (cooked)
- 1 egg beaten
- Vegetable Oil
- Powdered Sugar
Fill the Egg Roll Wrap with shredded fried chicken and pieces of a red velvet waffle. Fold the Egg Roll Wrap in fours covering the chicken and waffle, filling and securing the wrap by sealing it with the beaten egg wash.
Once folded, deep fry filled wrap for 90 seconds or until brown on each side. Remove and drain on paper towel. Garnish and enjoy with powdered sugar.
