CHICAGO, IL - After 71 years, one group of guys' dry spell is finally over. Get those minds out of the gutter; NewsFix is talking about baseball!
The Chicago Cubs are heading to the World Series after a seven decade drought. The last time the Cubbies made it to the biggest event in baseball was in 1945, falling to the Detroit Tigers. The team has not won a series in over 100 years; their last W was in 1908.
Their opponent, the Cleveland Indians, are breaking a nearly seven decade curse of their won. Even though the Indians made it to the series back in 1997, "The Tribe" has not won since 1948.
Fans are looking real hopeful on both sides; but only one team is going to bring home the title.
So buy yourself some peanuts and Cracker Jack's: because this Tuesday, Game One is going down at Cleveland's Progressive Field.
Who is going to end their team's drought?
