Class Acts: Austin Deculus aims to represent his family, school on football field

CYPRESS, Texas — Austin Deculus knows when he steps on the football field, he's playing for more than himself.

"I would like whenever I'm done playing football to know my last name, to represent my last name, my family, where I come from," Deculus said. "People are always going to look at you differently because they're going to be saying 'he's a Cy Fair student.' So, it means a lot to represent my school in a positive way."

Deculus is an offensive lineman and an Under Armour All-American.  He stands at 6 feet 7 inches and weighs 340 pounds and is always ready to make the next block.

"When I'm on the football field, I feel that adrenaline pumping through your veins. It's rejuvenating, like you smell blood in the water," Deculus said.

Committed to play at LSU, the Class Act also makes sure to take care of his grades.

"I'm not allowed to get Cs, because my parents won't like that very well," Deculus said.

While he hopes to one day play in the NFL, Austin wants to major in kinesiology and would like to eventually go into the medical field.
