HOUSTON — It's a cruel world out here, but for those without a job, the daily struggle is even more real.
Meet Raul Sanchez. He's going out on a limb by handing out his resume in the heart of Downtown Houston.
"I wanted to put a little twist on my search for jobs," Sanchez said.
After being laid off by the oil and gas industry, he's been on the hunt for over a year and a half.
Sanchez says it is a feeling many Houstonians know all too well.
"We have over 100,000 people just in oil and gas in Houston or Texas alone, unemployed. We are seeking opportunities so that we can leverage our skills into your industry," he said.
The unemployed Houstonian got the idea from the latest media campaigns. "With all this media campaigning of blank, blank lives matter, I wanted to ensure that unemployed lives matter."
He's representing everyone out there grinding to land a job.
"This represents all the unemployed people, who are continuously going through those last round interviews, and getting that note in their emails stating that they have been passed for someone else," Sanchez said.
