Driver decapitated after crashing into 18-wheeler in north Houston, deputies say

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Deputies are investigating after a driver crashed into an 18-wheeler and was decapitated in north Houston.

The driver was headed westbound on FM 1960 around 4 a.m. Wednesday when he lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a moving 18-wheeler, deputies said. The car clipped the back corner of the large truck, ripping off the top and entire drivers said of the car, investigators said.

Officers said the driver was ejected from the vehicle. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not hurt, deputies said.

Investigators are waiting for medical examiners to determine whether alcohol consumption played a role in the accident.
