HOUSTON — A man and woman were charged Tuesday night after officers found them unconscious at the wheel of a car with two toddlers in the backseat, the Houston Police Department said.

San Juan Dickison, 22, and Jessica Bello, 20, are charged with child endangerment, investigator said.

Police found Dickison, Bello and two girls sitting in a running vehicle around 11:30 p.m. near the 2000 block of Parana Drive, officers said. The girls are ages 1 and 2 years old, police said.

When officers approached the vehicle, Dickson and Bello appeared to be under the influence. Dickson was given a test at the scene and failed, investigators said. He is charged with DWI in addition to child endangerment.

It was not known if the children belonged to Bello or Dickison, or whether the two adults are a couple.
