BATON ROUGE, La. — We've all gotten in a little trouble passing notes at school, right? Only the note one middle school student passed to his teacher didn't get him sent to time out, instead it may have saved his mother's life.

After questioning the 11-year-old about the note he brought home to school — followed by some quick detective work — deputies figured out the child's mother was being held against her will. Even better, they also learned who her alleged captor was!

Investigators later arrested Ray Guy, a man already facing domestic violence charges and accused of skipping out on court dates. Now Guy won't be skipping anywhere anytime soon. He is facing new charges including false imprisonment and possibly theft after deputies recovered a stolen ATV.

Man, it's usually notes sent home from school that cause all the trouble!
