HPD: Police searching for man who allegedly beat wife with baseball bat

HOUSTON — Police are searching for a man accused of attacking his wife at a home in east Houston last year.

Jose Guadal Castillo, 52, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Investigators said Castillo hit his wife repeatedly with an aluminum baseball bat while she was at her home in the 6700 block of Avenue P. The incident happened Feb. 15, 2015 around 6 a.m.

After the attack, officers said Castillo left the house in a black 2006 Jeep Commander with license plate DRC-0397.

The victim was taken to the hospital where she was treated for her injuries. She suffered severe brain damage after being struck in the head numerous times, police said.

Officers said Castillo is a Hispanic man stating at 5-foot-6-inches and weighing 240 pounds.

Anyone with information related to the assault is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477. The agency is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for any information leading to a charge or arrest.
