Man caught on camera stealing expensive pens from Rice Village store

HOUSTON — Officers are searching for a man accused of stealing thousands of dollars in pens from a store in  Rice Village, authorities said.

The Houston Police Department said the man stole multiple Montblanc pens from a writing store in the 2500 block of Rice Boulevard. During the incident, police said the alleged thief went into the store and found the keys belonging to a display case. He stuffed several pens into his pockets without the employee’s knowledge, officers said.

The man left the location in an unknown direction. Authorities described the accused thief as a white man in between the ages of 45 – 55, with a balding head and wearing white shirt with pink shorts.

The store owner later reviewed the surveillance video, which allegedly shows the high value of the items.

Anyone with information related to the theft is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-8477. The agency is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for tips leading to an arrest or charge.
