HOUSTON — Investigators are searching for a hit-and-run driver after a man was killed while walking along a road in east Houston last month, police said.
The incident happened around 11 p.m. Oct. 2.
According to Houston police, Lendy Melton was walking in the 12100 block of Westgard Boulevard when he was struck by a gray-colored, 2006 – 2013 Chevrolet Impala headed eastbound on the same street, investigators said.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Police said the suspect’s car may have damage on its back right quarter panel.
Anyone one with information related to the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222- TIPS (8477). The agency is offering an up to $5,000 reward for tips leading to an arrest.
