HOUSTON — United Airlines passengers were startled Monday afternoon when a woman opened an emergency exit door at ramp level and jumped onto the tarmac at the  George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, authorities said.

According to another passenger, the woman  jetted off the plane and ran toward the terminal.

“She got up, supposedly to [use] the restroom and never came back but sat [at the] emergency exit next to [the] door,” passenger Cathy Cole said.

The incident happened around 1:15 p.m on a flight coming in from New Orleans, the officials said.

The woman has since been arrested.

“After looking into the incident FBI is no longer pursing  because no federal charges will be filled at this time,” an official said.

The Houston Police Department and United will continue their investigations.
