HOUSTON — Houston police are searching for a mother wanted in the beating death of her 3-year-old son. Jasmine Jones is charged with two counts of injury to a child.

Shortly before 8:30 a.m. Thursday, paramedics with the Houston Fire Department responded to a home in the 300 block of Wilcrest and found the boy, Jaycion Jones, unresponsive.

Paramedics observed bruising around Jaycion’s pelvis and transported him to Texas Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy conducted by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined Jaycion suffered extensive internal injuries, as well as wounds to his buttocks, back, abdomen, pelvis and head.

Investigators said a little girl had also been living with Jones but had been removed by Child Protective Services.

Anyone with information on the mother’s whereabouts is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
